Top Tips

Getting the most from your prints

Fujifilm Digital Imaging brings surperb digital picture quality to any format - digital or not - for perfect photos.

Fujifilm FDi has put together some top tips on how to ensure that your photos are always of the highest possible standards. We have even talked to some photographers to find out what the new services mean to professionals!

Processing used to be boring - and a little bit hit and miss, too!

1. In the old days you'd just drop off your roll of negatives and cross your fingers. Nowadays, Fujifilm's exclusive scanning system uses state-of-the-art technology that reads colours simultaneously, giving fast conversion to a high-precision digital format with no loss of image quality.

Whether you use traditional film or the latest digital camera, each picture is automatically assessed and corrections made to sharpen focus, make colours more lifelike, adjust for backlight and corner fall-off, as well as correct exposure levels.

FDi's digital processing delivers great digital prints for everyone. It accepts everything from negatives, slides and prints through to all the major digital images.

2. FDi labs offer many automatic image enhancements to maximise your photo quality, including:

- Exposure level correction
- Colours that stay true to the original
- Sharp foucs

3. If you want even more control, then scan your images into the FDi Digital Photo Centre and start calling the shots yourself.

Digital Photo Centre accepts prints and all major digital formats. It lets you customise and produce superior quality photos.

Thanks to the FDi Digital Photo Centre, you can do corrections yourself, and then a whole lot more.

You can eliminate red-eye as well as zoom and crop to achieve the frame you want.

If you want special effects - sepia or black and white - it's yours with a touch of the screen.

4. Improve your images with one or more of the following editing choices available with the Digital Photo Centre:

- Black and White
- Sepia
- Crop

With Digital Photo Centre you can also eliminate red eye at the touch of a button.

Photographer and digital artist

"IT delights me to see that fujifilm have come up with this brilliant idea to offer the public on site, in store, digital technology.

Having the technology to convert your ordinary film to digital format with the means to instantly edit all those unwanted elements - zoom and crop, colour correct - and end up with a fantastic finished photograph, is just wonderful. As a dedicated fujifilm user - by choice - for all my professional work, I know I can vouch for the quality of Fujifilm's unique colour and picture sharpness technology. Fujifilm, in my opinion, is serious about developing picture quality through technological innovation and also bringing this benefit to the general public on the high street."

"As a professional photographer I have used Fujifilm for 12 years. I use the full range of products to suit the assignment I am covering, including 35mm, 120, and instant colour film.

I think professionals are very happy using Fujifilm products and their trust of the brand extends throughout the product range, incorporating everything from 35mm film through to the new film processing service."
